Engineering and GIS software
Enterprise software solutions
We develop software tools and geographic information system (GIS) applications that fit the workflow of organizations and firms working with calculations, quantity take-offs, drawings and infrastructure data.
What we do
In a design office or an infrastructure department, a large part of the day goes into filling in the same table again, updating the same drawing sheet by hand and making data that arrives in different formats fit together. We move this work onto tools that run on the organization's own rules.
In software work, we work as engineers. Because we do structural calculations, quantity take-offs, progress payments and network designs ourselves, we know why each column in a calculation sheet is there, and where a project will get stuck if an attribute is missing from a pipeline layer. We start from the way you work today, not from the software.
We do not sell an off-the-shelf package. Each job is set up separately according to the organization's data, number of users and existing systems. Sometimes a calculation template and a report output are enough; sometimes a map application shared by several departments is needed.
Engineering software
Calculation and reporting tools
We turn recurring engineering calculations into templates that show inputs, assumptions and results in a readable form, and produce the calculation report directly from these templates.
Quantity and progress payment tables
We prepare tables that link unit-price item lists, unit prices and work quantities. When a quantity changes, the cost estimate, the progress payment and the summary sheet update at the same time.
Drawing and sheet automation
We write tools that produce rule-based drawings such as longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, reinforcement and typical details from the calculation data. Title blocks and sheet lists are not filled in by hand.
Regulatory checklists
We develop checking tools that test regulatory requirements one by one against the project data and show each unmet clause with the reason.
GIS and infrastructure data
Infrastructure inventory
We gather water supply, sewerage and stormwater lines, together with facilities such as valves, manholes and pumping stations, in a geographic database that can be queried.
Cleaning up network data
We bring network data drawn at different times and in different formats into a single coordinate system, and report disconnected lines, direction errors and missing attributes.
Data conversion
We write tools that transfer drawing files, survey outputs and tables into GIS layers and repeat this with the same rules at every new delivery.
Map-based queries
We develop web map applications that departments open in a browser, where selecting a line or a parcel brings up its information, with filters and report outputs.
Linking project data to the inventory
We set up workflows that enter the design and construction data of newly built lines into the inventory and make it traceable which line came with which project.
Our app: DWG OfficeZip
We built DWG OfficeZip for people who want to look at a drawing and take measurements in the field or on a construction site. On Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, it opens DWG, DXF and DGN drawings, measures them and shows your position on the drawing. Files are processed on the device itself; no internet connection is needed, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you share it.
The app is available on Google Play, and the iPhone and iPad version will soon be on the App Store. Opening, measuring and GPS are in the free version. Drawing editing, saving and 3D operations come with paid monthly or yearly plans.
Opening drawings
DWG (R13 through 2018 and later), DXF and DGN (V7, V8) files, with layers, blocks, attributes, layouts and reference files.
Measurement
Length, area, angle, radius and coordinates, with vertex and midpoint snapping.
Position in the field
Your GPS position appears in the drawing's coordinate system (UTM, ITRF96, ED50; 3° and 6° zones). The drawing sits on a map, satellite imagery or your own WMS / XYZ layer.
Pipe profile
Reads levels and slope between manholes from the drawing.
Documents and PDF
Opens PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX and ZIP files, and exports a selected area of a document or drawing as PDF or PNG.
Keyboard and command line
On a tablet with a keyboard and mouse connected, you work with familiar CAD command names and their abbreviations. The interface is available in fifteen languages.

How we work
Seeing the current work
We sit down with the people who will use the tool and map out how the work is done today, and which file comes from where and goes where.
First version with sample data
We pick a small sample from the organization's own data and prepare a first working version. We discuss it on screen, not on paper.
Trial with users
We use the first version on real work, note together where you get stuck and fix it.
Delivery and training
We install the tool on the organization's server or computers and give the users a short training session.
Deliverables
- The working tool or application, with installation notes
- User guide
- For GIS work, a data dictionary with layer and attribute definitions
- The cleaned-up data itself and a list of the corrections made
- Source code, where the contract provides for it
Our software service is limited to tools that work with engineering, cost and infrastructure data. We do not set up accounting, human resources or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Frequently asked questions
Our data is scattered and incomplete. Does it need to be cleaned up first?
No, most jobs start right there. We first assess the state of the existing data and report which gaps affect the tool; cleanup and development go ahead together.
Where is the data kept?
Wherever the organization prefers. In most cases we set up an installation that runs on your own server or computers; the data does not need to stay with us.
Will the source code belong to us?
This is settled in the contract from the start. Handing over the source code is the usual choice when the organization wants to develop the tool further itself later on.
Do you work with records that contain personal data?
Yes, if needed, but only with the fields the job requires and under the rules the organization sets as data controller. Where possible, we prepare the trial version with sample data that contains no personal data.
Do you also take on small jobs?
Yes. Automating a single calculation sheet or one drawing step is a job too; we quote the scope and timeline accordingly.
Request a quote for your project
Write to us with the type of building, its location and the documents you have. We will agree the scope and timeline with you and send a written quote.
